Tony Coppola - Director of Saratoga Polo Operations
Polo Hal of Famer, Tony Coppola has been inspirational in the resurgence of Saratoga Polo. Since the age on nine, Tony has done it all as player, coach, teacher, announcer, organizer, club manager, promoter and owner of one of the most successful and prominent business in polo, the Tackeria, a high end polo tack shop that can be found in Wellington, Florida and at field sides everywhere.
Jim Rossi - Managing Partner
Jim Rossi is a business and marketing strategist. He has been a key player in several noteworthy new business launches and the repositioning and revitalization of a number of existing products and services, in both consumer and business-to-business marketing. Rossi’s association with the Saratoga Polo Club project provides a solid link to both the national sports and local academic communities.
Rossi, a graduate of Skidmore College, is actively involved in the local community. He serves on the boards of directors of Saratoga PLAN,
Saratoga Springs Preservation and Skidmore Strategic Communications Advisory Board.
Rossi has demonstrated success in the design, development, implementation and management of national marketing programs for a number of institutions and venues, including: 1996 Olympic Games, American Express, AT&T, GE Financial Assurance, Hilton, Home Depot, IBM, MCI, SBS Communications, SeaWorld, Rayovac, WalMart, as well as several venture start-up companies.
Most recently, Rossi founded Space Marketing Mission (SMM) – a unique partnership with NASA and Lockheed Martin to explore and develop space commercialization opportunities. Prior to founding SMM, Rossi served as chief marketing officer for the global launch of XPO Network, a global airport media company based in the United Kingdom. In 1987, he co-founded MarkNet Partners, a business strategy and marketing consultancy.
Mike Bucci - Managing Partner
Michael Bucci is former president and CEO of Armored Motor Service of America (AMSA), a Rochester-based company he started in 1977. By growing the company from one truck to over 400 with 1,300 employees he has helped create one of the largest armored car companies in the Northeast. The company provided service to banks, retail and financial institutions as well as the Federal Reserve Bank. This success resulted in his appointment by Governor Pataki as chairman of the Armored Car Advisory Board for the State of New York.
Bucci has invested 30 years into the creation and operations aspects of national businesses. In 2003, he was recognized by the Rochester Community Foundation as Entrepreneur of the Year—cited for bringing the vision to create a company focused on a spirited entrepreneurial approach to development.
Bucci is a Siena College alum, and currently serves on the institution’s board of trustees. He has hosted many Siena College alumni receptions and focus groups around the country. He has also worked with Siena's admissions office, recruiting dozens of students from the Rochester and Long Island areas and helping students with job placement and mentoring their career development. Bucci used his talents to chair the Siena College Board of Associate Trustees' resources committee. He has also sponsored the Sarazen Golf Tournament and Siena Day at Saratoga for many years.
Bucci also serves on the boards for Sigl Sports and Roc.
Nicholas Barry - Polo Manager
Nicholas Barry has been hired as Polo Manager and is working alongside longtime Polo Director Tony Coppola to secure an outstanding caliber of polo teams for competition. Barry formerly served as Business Manager at the Port Mayaca Polo Club in South Florida and is a former member of the University of Virginia polo team. Barry started playing polo at the Darlington Polo Club in western Pennsylvania, and has played polo throughout the United States, Argentina and England.
