Saratoga Polo 2007 Special Events Each season Saratoga Polo host a variety of special events. 2006 events included our famed tailgate and hat competiton, jockey polo, cigar nights, spa day, wine dinners, and partys for a cause to name a few. Jockey PoloIn August of 2006 the jockeys of Saratoga Racecourse teamed up with Saratoga Polo to host a charity event to benefit the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. Team Caprains were Rich Migliore of Saratoga Racecourse and Tony Coppola of Saratoga Polo. The match was followed by an Asiago.  Tailgate Competiton7/29 – Lexus Cup and Annual Tailgate Competition World-class picnics prepared by spectators make this one of the most memorable events of the Saratoga Polo season. This year’s theme is “Summer at the Cape” for a Down East flavor. Prizes will be awarded in several categories. Tailgate set up begins when gates open at 4 p.m. Judging takes place during halftime with prizes given after the trophy presentation. Hat CompetitonSunday, 7/22 – Saratoga Polo’s Annual Hat Contest Wear your best chapeau and be part of the half-time fun during play for the Santi Pinot Grigio Cup at Saratoga Polo. Stomp the divots (a polo half-time tradition) as you join the fun of entering this year’s contest for great prizes.  Tony Coppola's Induction Ceremony ReceptionIn August of 2006, Saratoga Polo hosted a benefit dinner to honor Saratoga Polo's General Manger's induction in the Polo Hall of Fame. All preceeds were donated to the Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame.
July 31 – 27 th Annual Palamountain Cup – Polo by Twilight Benefit gourmet dinner and polo match benefit The Joseph C. and Anne T. Palamountain Scholarship Fund at Skidmore College. Dinner prepared by Saratoga Polo Catering under the direction of Chef David Britton. For tickets or more information, contact the Office of Donor Relations at Skidmore College, 518-580-5671.
August 5 – The Flavors of Bobby Flay Annual Gala Benefit for the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay, also a horse owner and breeder, creates his masterpieces on this night exclusively for the TRF's annual Saratoga fund-raiser. The party includes an auction of "experiences," such as a trip to the Dubai World Cup. For more information, contact the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation at 732-957-0182
This evening, polo will be played on the Skidmore field with the Frangelico observation bus on site. Spectators are invited to watch the match from the vehicle’s second story.
