Saratoga Polo Press Releases

Indulge in Culinary Delights from Saratoga’s Springwater Bistro
Preview new catering offering at Saratoga Polo

The Saratoga Polo Club, one of the oldest and most prestigious polo clubs in the country, is pleased to honor new and existing members at Meet Saratoga Polo, a membership appreciation event on Wednesday, May 18, 2004 at the Springwater Bistro.

Several representatives of the City of Saratoga will be in attendance, including Mayor Michael Lenz, Public Works Commissioner Tom McTygue, Finance Commissioner Matt McCabe; Greenfield County Supervisor Robert Stokes, and Greenfield Planning Board Chairman—and President of Stewart’s Shops—Gary Dake.

“We are humbled to take this moment to thank new and existing Polo Club members, as well as members of the Saratoga community,” said Jim Rossi, co-owner of Saratoga Polo Club. “Without their support, the club would not be able to maintain its spot as one of the most revered traditions in Saratoga’s history.”

This special evening is the first event held by Saratoga Polo since coming under new ownership. It will play host to members, polo team owners and players, members of the Club’s management team, as well as the new co-owners of Saratoga Polo—Jim Rossi and Mike Bucci. The evening’s festivities will include a unique feast of tapas, and live entertainment.

“While Mike [Dean], Mike [Bucci] and myself are new to Saratoga Polo, we are thrilled that the management team—which has always been the backbone of the organization—has remained intact,” continued Rossi. “Tony Coppola, director of polo operations, is a highly dedicated individual with a love for the sport and this community. Combined with the tireless efforts of membership coordinator Perry Palmer and operations coordinator Fleur Ahern, it is truly an amazing group. We could not be more pleased to become part of their team.”

Holding the event at the Springwater Bistro is a direct reflection of the new partnership formed between Chef David Britton and Saratoga Polo. Through this unique partnership, Saratoga Polo will now offer year-round on- and off-site catering services for a variety of special events—from weddings and holiday celebrations to corporate and charity events.
